While the new Yaesu FTdx101MP is an amazing radio there are a few things I feel it should have that it doesn’t. One of those things as a Peak Envelope Power option on the power meter.

It’s not a massive thing but it is something I like to have set and it was an option on the Yaesu FT-710 which is an entry level radio.

So, the fix is adding an external analogue SWR/Power meter. I have to say that Diamond make a nice looking meter and it sits very nicely on the top of the 101MP and while I do like modern tech and digital displays there is also something nice in seeing the real needle of the analogue SWR/Power meter move when I key the mic.
